Roll up, roll up!

We are staging a West End Plymouth Fun Day on Saturday August 29 to bring all the fun of the fair to the streets around Plymouth Market.

Singers, street dancers and circus performers will be roaming the streets performing at various locations to ensure social distancing can be maintained.

Traders will be joining in with some outside stalls and there will be face painting available inside the market.

The Fun Day, has been organised by the Plymouth City Centre Company instead of the West End Carnival which sadly had to be cancelled this year because of COVID restrictions.

Steve Hughes, chief executive of the City Centre Company, said: “Our local traders have had a difficult time during lockdown, so we wanted to do something to attract more visitors and boost trade but with social distancing measures in place.  So, the fun day is all about attracting people to the area but there will be no stage and performances will be spread out, so people can safely wander around and enjoy the atmosphere.

“It is the perfect opportunity to support  our businesses in and outside the market.”
